“I go by the name Brutalister. It’s more convenient for me.
First and foremost, comes the capture of architectural elements. I observe them, track them down, and seize them. Then, I distort them, transform them, and adapt them to my mood. Photos form the backdrop of my creations. I then conceive drawing elements, vector shapes, and through digital manipulation, I assemble them. I play with clean lines and abstract forms to interact with existing structures and textures.
I thrive on contrasts, I feed on shadows, I seek light. Black and white is my preferred palette. It emphasizes the strength of forms and doesn’t indulge in any artifice.
The austerity of brutalism and the refined simplicity of minimalism inspire my works. The use of mixed techniques allows me to assemble disparate visual fragments to imagine the scenes I compose.
Each of these scenes tells a story of urbanity, exploring the raw beauty of the structures that surround us. My goal is to provoke reflection and discussion on the relationship between humans and their environment, whether chosen or endured.”
